Cape Travellers Guide is a curated platform connecting discerning travellers with licensed, professional private tour guides in the Western Cape. Our guides provide bespoke, concierge-style services including personalised itinerary design, local expertise, reservations (excluding flights), and on-trip coordination. We are not a tour operator. We are a direct connection platform between you and your selected guide.

You are solely responsible for:
  • Booking your international and domestic flights
  • Securing comprehensive travel insurance (medical, cancellation, theft, liability)
  • Meeting all passport, visa, health, and entry requirements
  • Providing accurate and complete personal and booking information
  • Paying all agreed fees directly to your guide
Cape Travellers Guide does not arrange travel insurance or flights.

Your selected guide is responsible for:
  • Designing and delivering agreed itineraries
  • Providing professional and safe guiding services
  • Coordinating reservations where requested
  • Using legally licensed and compliant transport
  • Communicating clearly before and during your trip
Guides operate independently and are fully responsible for the services they provide.

Yes. All guides are registered and certified with recognised South African tourism authorities (e.g., DEDAT) and must comply with applicable tourism legislation.

You are required to hold valid personal travel insurance. This must include: Emergency medical treatment, Hospitalisation, Evacuation, Personal liability, Cancellation cover. Guide insurance does not replace your own policy.

Guides operate under South African tourism regulations and carry the required permits and liability cover where applicable. However, Cape Travellers Guide accepts no liability for accidents, injuries, losses, or damages occurring during tours. Travellers participate at their own risk and must rely on their own insurance coverage.

Yes. As part of their concierge-style service, guides may coordinate reservations on your behalf. All third-party costs must be approved and paid according to the respective provider’s terms.

All payments are made directly between traveller and guide. Cape Travellers Guide does not process payments, hold deposits, act as an intermediary, or intervene in payment disputes.

Standard Terms:
  • A deposit of 10% of the tour price or the equivalent of 100 EURO (whichever is higher) is due one month prior to the tour start date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Tour deposits are non-refundable unless the guide provides written alternative terms.
  • Third-party services follow the provider’s own cancellation policies.

Yes. Many guides specialise in tailor-made itineraries designed around your interests, pace, and budget.

Cancellation terms are determined by the individual guide. Travellers must obtain written confirmation of cancellation and refund conditions before confirming any booking. Cape Travellers Guide holds no responsibility for cancellations or refund disputes.

If transport is included, this will be clearly stated in the tour description. Vehicles must be legally licensed and compliant under South African law.
